Wythenshawe Vets Over-35s are located in south Manchester and play in the Cheshire Vets Division Premier Tier.

Their roster this season boasts nine former Premier League players, with a total over 1,800 elite appearances.

So great is the strength in depth at Wythenshawe, he made his debut at defender.

"It's a bit unusual but then, I enjoy sprinting and just go forward - I'm not defending that much," he said.

"I warn my centre-back 'I'm not hanging back' and that I'm just going to keep running.

"That running is what I'm after. It's enjoyable."

Dreamlike' Experience

Along with Cisse's 6 scores on his first game, Ireland has scored 8 in three games for the side, while George Boyd scored five on his first appearance and Lescott, a centre-half by trade, scored a triple in one game up front.

The team are leading of the Premier Tier with three wins from three and a GD of plus nineteen.

One opponent, 38, who features on the flank for the opposition, faced former Latics full-back Maynor Figueroa on Sunday - and had to tell his nine-year-old son who Heskey was.
